Overgeared is getting another major preview before its fall debut. The anime released a third promotional trailer and a new key visual on September 13, adding two voice actors to the cast and offering a fresh look at Grid’s journey inside the virtual-reality game Satisfy.

Overgeared follows Shin Youngwoo, known as Grid inside the enormously popular VR game Satisfy. His real life is defined by debt and unstable work, and his in-game situation is not much better. His fortunes change after he obtains a book connected to the legendary blacksmith Pagma. Who is making the Overgeared anime?
J.C.STAFF is producing the animation. Ayako Kono directs the series, Kenta Ihara handles series composition, Ryosuke Tanigawa is responsible for character design and Yoshiaki Fujisawa composes the music. Yoshikazu Iwanami serves as sound director.
Kono previously directed Sword Art Online Progressive films, but Overgeared has a different narrative engine. Grid is not trapped inside Satisfy. His motivation is heavily tied to his circumstances outside the game, and virtual success can affect his real financial situation.
Overgeared comes from a major Korean web novel and webtoon
The anime is based on Saenal’s Korean web novel and the webtoon adaptation associated with REDICE STUDIO and Team Argo. The source gives the anime a large amount of material to draw from, but the production has not announced how far the first television season will adapt.
That distinction matters. The source story may be extensive, but viewers should not assume a particular stopping point, episode count or adaptation pace until the production committee confirms those details.
