Firefly Wedding Anime Release Time in India and Where to Watch

Firefly Wedding premieres on Crunchyroll on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time. That is 9:30 p.m. India Standard Time on the same day, and Crunchyroll explicitly includes the Indian Subcontinent among its licensed streaming regions. The Japanese television premiere is also October 9, at 11:30 p.m. JST on Fuji TV's Noitamina block. These are two different clocks: the international streaming slot is not the same as the Japanese television broadcast.

The anime adapts Oreco Tachibana's historical romantic suspense manga, following Satoko Kirigaya, a seriously ill young noblewoman who tries to survive an assassination attempt by proposing marriage to the man sent to kill her. The premise is intentionally unsettling rather than a conventional lighthearted romance. Here is the verified schedule, how to watch from India, the creative team and what the newly released Shinpei character trailer tells viewers without revealing later manga developments.

Firefly Wedding release date and time in India

Crunchyroll's October 6 premiere announcement gives an exact subtitled launch: October 9 at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time. On that date the United States is observing Pacific Daylight Time (UTC−7), so the release converts to 4:00 p.m. UTC, 9:30 p.m. IST, noon Eastern Daylight Time and 5:00 p.m. British Summer Time. These conversions apply to the October 9 premiere, not automatically to future weeks after daylight-saving changes.

For viewers in Mumbai, Delhi and the rest of India, the practical answer is Friday evening at 9:30 p.m. IST. Crunchyroll's regional list explicitly names the Indian Subcontinent, alongside North and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East and CIS territories. A subscription and local catalog availability may still determine whether an episode tile appears immediately for an individual account. The platform's title page is the best place to confirm playback.

In Japan, Firefly Wedding is scheduled to air at 11:30 p.m. JST on October 9, equivalent to 8:00 p.m. IST. Japan does not observe daylight-saving time. It is therefore entirely possible to see different times in Japanese promotional posts and English streaming announcements without either being incorrect. The international Crunchyroll slot is ninety minutes later than the Japanese TV broadcast in absolute time.

Where can you watch Firefly Wedding?

Crunchyroll is the announced international streaming home for the anime. Its October 6 article specifies both the subtitled premiere time and supported regions. The official Japanese broadcast runs on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block. These are confirmed distribution arrangements; no additional Indian streaming platform is verified by the sources reviewed here.

If the episode is not visible at the advertised minute, first check the Crunchyroll series page and its episode selector, then your account's region and subscription. A short platform delay should not be interpreted as an official postponement unless Crunchyroll or the production committee actually announces one. Similarly, do not assume an English dub begins at the subtitled premiere time: the announcement used for this guide concerns the subtitled release.

What is Firefly Wedding about?

Satoko Kirigaya appears to have the advantages of wealth, beauty and family status, but her illness leaves her future uncertain. Marriage is both a personal question and a duty imposed by her social position. Before she can arrange the match her family expects, she becomes the target of an assassination plot. The man confronting her is Shinpei Goto, a professional killer whose understanding of attachment is dangerously intense.

Satoko's response is not a typical romantic confession. She proposes a marriage as a desperate tactic to stay alive, putting herself into an arrangement where her protector is also the person capable of killing her. That contradiction drives the story's tension: the relationship begins with survival, not mutual trust. Readers should expect suspense, coercive power dynamics and obsession alongside romantic development.

The setting and character conflict make Firefly Wedding quite different from gentle school romances. The series asks what choice means when one person holds almost all the immediate physical power, while the other must use intelligence, social expectations and emotional negotiation to create a path forward. That is an interpretation of the published premise, not a claim about a specific unanimated manga outcome.

Who voices Satoko and Shinpei?

Lynn voices Satoko Kirigaya, while Koki Uchiyama plays Shinpei Goto. The supporting announced cast includes Kento Ito as Kotaro Ogawa and Kenjiro Tsuda as Mitsueda. Crunchyroll's October 8 coverage specifically highlights Uchiyama's performance in a new Shinpei-focused character trailer, making the assassin's personality a central part of the final pre-premiere marketing.

The character trailer shows Shinpei in a bloodstained encounter with Satoko. Rather than presenting him as an ordinary heroic rescuer, the promotion emphasizes the unnerving contrast between violence and the unexpected intimacy of Satoko reaching toward him. That visual setup is consistent with the story's marriage-of-convenience premise, but it does not establish how their relationship ultimately ends.

Which studio is making the anime?

david production animates Firefly Wedding. Takahiro Kamei directs, Yuko Kakihara handles series composition and scripts, Yukiko Aikei provides character designs, and NOGRID is responsible for the music. Those credits are confirmed in Crunchyroll's premiere coverage and earlier adaptation announcements. The production's promotional material has emphasized the uneasy contrast between elegant period imagery and dangerous emotional stakes.

Studio names are useful context, not guarantees of animation quality or faithfulness. The finished episodes will determine how effectively the adaptation handles the manga's shifting tones, character expressions and tension. A trailer can show a production's visual intentions, but it cannot by itself prove that every chapter will be adapted or that the story will finish within one television season.

Is Firefly Wedding based on a completed manga?

Yes. Firefly Wedding, known in Japanese as Hotaru no Yomeiri, comes from Oreco Tachibana's manga published by Shogakukan. The main manga serialization began in January 2023 and concluded in 2026, with the story collected in twelve volumes according to Crunchyroll's October coverage. VIZ Media publishes an English-language edition, giving viewers a licensed way to explore the source material.

A completed manga does not mean the anime has confirmed a complete adaptation. The sources reviewed for this article do not establish a final anime episode count, exact chapter coverage or an announcement that the television run will adapt the ending. Claims about an additional season or a full-story adaptation would therefore be premature. Viewers who want to avoid spoilers should be cautious with manga discussion threads now that the source story has concluded.

Does the story have a happy ending?

This guide deliberately avoids answering that question with manga spoilers. The anime's official synopsis establishes a dangerous false marriage and Shinpei's obsessive devotion, but those starting conditions do not disclose the eventual outcome. A manga-ending explanation would be a separate spoiler-heavy topic and should not be mixed into a premiere schedule article. The safest expectation for new viewers is a romance with psychological and suspense elements, not a guaranteed comforting resolution.

What is confirmed, and what is still unknown?

Confirmed: the October 9 Japanese broadcast, Crunchyroll's October 9 subtitled streaming launch at 9:00 a.m. Pacific, Indian Subcontinent availability, the lead voice cast, david production as animation studio and the principal creative staff. The Shinpei character trailer is also officially released as of October 8.

Not established by the sources used here: a complete episode count, an English-dub premiere date, an India-specific alternative platform, or the precise amount of the manga that Season 1 will cover. These are separate questions and should not be filled in by guesswork. If Crunchyroll changes its schedule, the service's current episode listing takes precedence over older announcements.

Should you watch Firefly Wedding?

Firefly Wedding is worth considering if you enjoy character-driven romance that makes trust difficult rather than taking it for granted. The premise has a strong central dilemma, and the newly released Shinpei trailer suggests the anime intends to preserve the discomfort and danger surrounding its male lead. Viewers seeking a soft, low-stakes relationship comedy should know that this story begins with an attempted killing and a desperate bargain.

For anyone deciding whether to start on premiere night, the most useful information is simple: Crunchyroll lists Firefly Wedding for October 9 at 9:30 p.m. IST. You do not need to read the manga first. Start with Episode 1, keep the distinction between anime material and completed-manga spoilers in mind, and check the platform for any later weekly schedule changes.
