BLEACH Mirrors High is scheduled to launch on October 28, 2026 for iOS and Android. Bandai Namco confirmed the date on October 27, alongside ten newly revealed Soul Reapers designed by Tite Kubo, a dedicated PIERROT FILMS opening animation and a limited-time Sōsuke Aizen character. The free-to-play game tells an original story set after Thousand-Year Blood War. It is not a new television anime season.

The timing makes the announcement unusually relevant. With the anime's main war story now complete, fans have a new Bleach project to explore immediately. But the key details deserve separating: a scheduled mobile launch, a new game storyline, original characters from the manga creator and an Aizen event are all confirmed. A new manga sequel or anime arc was not announced during this broadcast.

BLEACH Mirrors High release date and platforms

Bandai Namco scheduled BLEACH Mirrors High for Wednesday, October 28 on Apple's App Store and Google Play. The publisher describes it as free to play, with pre-registration available ahead of release. The announcement establishes the date, not the precise hour at which servers will open in every country. Players should check their local storefront rather than assume the game is already playable everywhere.

The project was originally revealed in December 2025 with a broader summer 2026 target. After months of previews and beta information, the October 27 broadcast finally supplied a specific release day. Both Crunchyroll News and Gematsu independently reported the update, while Bandai Namco's own statement is the primary source.

What is the new story about?

Mirrors High takes place after the Thousand-Year Blood War and follows a player-created Soul Reaper. Instead of replaying only Ichigo Kurosaki's famous battles, players can customize their character's appearance and Zanpakutō and join a new story involving original recruits and familiar members of the Gotei 13. That perspective gives the game room to show a different side of Soul Society.

The postwar setting follows the era discussed in our Bleach finale preview, but the game is a separate work with its own protagonist. Bandai Namco has described Tite Kubo's involvement in the scenario and character design. His participation is meaningful, yet it does not automatically prove that every game event will be treated as binding manga canon.

The game is also distinct from the Hell Arc. That official manga one-shot has inspired speculation about a continuation, but the mobile game's launch is not confirmation of a Hell Arc serialization or anime adaptation. Both projects can take place after the original war without being the same story.

Ten more original Soul Reapers designed by Tite Kubo

The October 27 presentation introduced ten additional rookie Soul Reapers, each designed by Kubo. They join previously revealed characters including Shirin Migishima, Shirane Sanari, Naru Jurinna, Giro Hando and Maiko Tokishima. The publisher says the new recruits belong to different divisions, expanding the game's original cast beyond the familiar captains and lieutenants.

That is one of the most promising parts of the announcement. A cast of original recruits could let the story examine how Soul Society operates after the war rather than only assemble nostalgic cameos. The promotional material does not establish how much screen time each recruit will get, so their importance to the plot should not be overstated before release.

Aizen confirmed for the first limited-time character draw

Sōsuke Aizen was a major reveal. Bandai Namco announced a special version of the character, presented as [Heavenly Throne] Aizen, for the first limited-time gacha after launch. The announced availability window runs from the game's opening through November 24, 2026 at 2:59 p.m. Japan time, subject to change. This does not mean Aizen is a permanently unlocked free character.

The former captain remains one of Bleach's most recognizable characters, and our analysis of why Aizen never used Bankai explores his abilities in the original story. The game's limited-time event is a different matter, governed by its character acquisition system rather than a new canon revelation about Aizen.

PIERROT FILMS creates a new opening with CRITICAL by suisoh

Bandai Namco released the full opening animation, produced by PIERROT FILMS, the studio associated with the Thousand-Year Blood War anime. The theme song is CRITICAL by suisoh, with arrangement collaboration from Takahiro Yamada. The game's official English website separately confirmed the new opening on October 27.

This matters even for viewers who have no intention of playing a mobile game. The project includes new animated material from the team connected to Bleach's recent television comeback. Still, the opening is for Mirrors High, not a teaser for another unannounced anime season.

How does BLEACH Mirrors High play?

The game combines avatar and Zanpakutō customization with a three-character team system. Players select attack cards, chain combinations and use special techniques such as Soul Drive. Bandai Namco presents the combat as both fast and tactical. Whether the systems stay engaging, and how fair the free-to-play progression feels, will need to be judged from the released game rather than its promotional trailers.

The main takeaways are straightforward: BLEACH Mirrors High is scheduled for October 28 on iOS and Android, with a new postwar story, Kubo-designed characters, an Aizen event and a PIERROT FILMS opening. It arrives at a natural moment after the anime's conclusion, extending the momentum described in our article on why Thousand-Year Blood War worked as a comeback. Whether the game can sustain that interest is now up to the launch experience.
